Parmala is located in the charming village of Herajoki in Riihimäki. Parmala was once one of the wealthiest houses in the area from the 1720s until the early 1800s.
Parmala’s main building was built from sturdy wooden logs in 1890. However, the farm itself is older and has served as an allodium estate since the 1560s and as a traveller’s inn.
Parmala’s vast estate has been used to grow grain, peas, vegetables and rear livestock. The products went mainly to Riihimäki, but the milk was also exported as far as Helsinki.
Parmala has long been a private home but is now opening its doors for party and company meeting rentals.
